Hi, my name is Kathy and I've been quilting for 3 years. My mother was a quilter and I inherited her stash of fabrics and tons of rulers and other tools I have yet to figure out. So far I have completely finished 1 quilt from fabric selection, piecing, sandwiching, making my own quilt templates, the 2 year quilting process, binding and finally snuggling. For 3 years I've been attending a quilting class and have made several tops which are now waiting patiently to be completed. It is just so wonderful to discover this site where other quilters can chat and vent and learn from each other.

Hi Gayle, I have a son in the Navy as well. He's a Navy Rescue Diver Medic. Ryan is stationed in Guam and that tour ends at the end of the year. He and his wife are hoping to be transferred to San Diego. Where is your son stationed?

I just made an oriental kaleidescope quilt for them and am picking it up from the quilter later this week. Once I bind it, it'll be off to Guam.

Good to be on this blog together with people who have interweaving stories to share.

Blessings,
kathy from orlando

My husband and I used to live in St. Charles. I loved it there. At the time I wasn't quilting but I was painting. Two of my children were born at home while we lived there...such pleasant memories.
Blessings,
kathy from orlando

Welcome from Newfoundland Canada!

I just got back from Orlando! Loved "Quilter's Cove" quilt shop. Cornerstone was lovely too! Lucky to have two great quiltshops near by!
