Hello to a wonderful forum. I've been reading here for a couple of days and am so impressed with the wealth of knowledge you all have. I am a self-taught quilter and have enjoyed every minute of it the past few years. I use a Pfaff 2027 and have converted our smallest bedroom into my sewing room with a mishmash of furniture. But it works well for me. I also enjoy making purses and am in the process of making new drapes throughout the house.

Welcome from Central Illinois. I used to live in Eastern Tennessee---about 12 miles SE of Knoxville, between Knoxville and Sevierville, just about 30 minutes from Gatlinburg. I was going to school at Johnson Bible College. BEAUTIFUL country! We were right on the French Broad River and could look out over the valley on the other side.

Thanks for all the "hi" backs. Yes, this part of Tennessee is truly beautiful, but summers can be hard to endure because of awfully high humidity. Other than that and the allergies that go along with it (!!), I love it here, too.
