Welcome from a Brit living in Virginia! My late Dad was born near Sheffield. My research on quilting in UK goes back to pre-medieval times when padded armor type garments were used prior to metal armor; women also wore under petticotes which were quilted. This proved to be an interesting journey! I too love to quilt and have finished one piece based on William Morris's art nouveau designs.
