My doctor was sending me to a physcal therapest for the OA in my hands. He said that I will never get rid of it, and to use what I do have or that could get worse as well. So I thought why am I giving him my time and money, with nothing to show for it. So I baught a sewing machine. If I spend the same ammount of time on this, as I did with him I will at least have something to show for it (quilt, wall hanging, and so on). So I am open to any suggestions. I will appologize now for my bad typing and spelling, after all I'm a man remember. RRR (as the toolman would say)

Hello, and welcome from Missouri.
Have you started anything yet? There are lots of ideas here, just look at the pictures section. This is a great way to use your time, AND have something to show for it!

 Welcome from eastern Iowa. (I don't think either of those are handicaps.) Everyone has to start somewhere, and lots of guys quilt/sew. I even know of a guy that crochets better than any woman I've ever seen....and he knits!!! He says his next project is to learn quilting. I told him to go for it and that his creations, (if they are anything like his yarn work) will be stunning. (He has lots of time, he is retired now.)
Can't wait to see pics of some of your works. :D

Welcome from Central Pa. Start small and easy. a basic nine patch will be a good place to start. Color selection is my biggest challange. Spend some time in a fabric store. Have you ever sewn before?

OLDNTATTED 03-07-2010 06:30 PM

Yes. I have allways fixed my own tears and even made my first set of chaps by useing a old pair of jeans as a template. I do have some pics of my first works if I can figer out how to post them.
