Hello from Indiana

Hi,
My name is Veronica, but most people call me Roni. I recently graduated from college. When I was about half way through college, I was told to apply for disability because it was unlikely that I would be able to obtain employment because of my health. I hate not being able to do anything. I am used to working and miss it. Consequently, I have decided to take up quilting because I have been interested in quilting for many years. This week, I was able to aquire the supplies I needed to get started. I want something that will keep me occupied.

Welcome from Peru, IN :) Have you picked out any fabric or a pattern? I think that's one of the best parts of the process.

To Babyfire04, Yes I have picked out some fabric, still deciding on a pattern. Think I am going to make a set of 4 placemats for starters.

Hello there & Welcome to our Quilting Board from the state of Washington!!
:D :D :D :D

RoniKays 06-28-2012 05:49 AM

Thank you, SolaBug. What part of WA did you live in? I used to live in Sumas (for about 8 months), near the Canadian border.

RoniKays 06-28-2012 05:52 AM

Hi Katsewnsew, It's hot here as well, supposed to be in the 100's for the rest of the week, getting up to 104 today, 103 tomorrow, 104 on Saturday, and 100 on Sunday. We usually don't get that hot, as I'm sure you well know. I'm an Army brat myself, born in CA, and literally raised everywhere else. But, I spent just over 30 years in New Jersey before I moved to WA, TX, KY, and finally IN.

RoniKays 06-28-2012 05:55 AM

Hi Jammin' Jane, Thank you. I have a number of hobbies and have always wanted to learn how to quilt. Well, I finally got up the nerve to buy most of the supplies I would need, still have a few that I may have to get, but they will have to wait until I can get some money together. I look forward to interacting with my new friends here in the Quilting Board.

RoniKays 06-28-2012 05:56 AM

Thanks, Gladys, I already love it and I haven't even really started quilting yet. I had fun picking out the supplies I would need along with the material I will need for my first project.
