Hello from Ohio
I am new here and new to quilting. I have sewn all my life and needed a new creative challenge. What a better way to learn than to share with others. My creative skills are a work in progress and I look forward to meeting and making new friends. I love to learn and have been a teacher all my life.
I know that I need lots of practice but I feel a spirited passion to learn how to quilt. When I was a child my old Aunt Hazel sat me on her knee at the age of two with needle in hand at her quilters rack. Ladies yacked and she taught me "in and out" while fascinating my little hands with future skills. When I was seven she taught me to sew and make doll clothes. Her husband drew her patterns for her and I think she may have paper pieced. I feel I am being enticed towards that creative process but the more I practice and learn , the more I will feel. I am so joyful to have found the Quilting Board and look forward to meeting many of you. :o Cheers!!!!!!

Welcome from the SHO-ME state - Missouri! You will do fine if you have sewn with patterns in the past - you already know how to follow the directions. But the 1/4 inch seam might be hard for you to get used to.
