Hello from Philadelphia
I've sewn garments since 7th grade but I'm a relatively new quilter. I'm retiring on June 19 and my wardrobe needs have changed. I took a beginner's quilting class two years ago and have finished two quilts since then. I like the planning, the shopping, the piecing – everything except the actual quilting on my home machine. I don't think my quilts are good enough to spend money on professional longarming. I enjoy and have learned from other sewing message boards and blogs and hope to learn more about quilting the same way.

Hello and welcome from New York Elaray! Had to laugh about you comment on quilting the quilt. I remember my first attempts and shudder. Practice makes perfect. Make squares of fabric and batting and practice quilting simple designs.
