Hi there
found your forum two days ago as I needed help and boy, I sure got it! As you can tell from my nick I am a grandma (two grandsons 3y and 7mt) and therefore also a mama (two daughters and a son, 28, 24, 26.) I live with my hubby in basle, switzerland. I (used to) know your country quit well as we lived from 1984 to 86 in Santa Barbara. Our youngest daughter was born there and after our stay there we travelled with a caravan and the three young ones for 7 month across canada and the usa. Best time in my life! Cant even say which area I loved the most, seen so many great places. I was sewing more or less my whole life and just a couple of weeks ago I accidently came to patchwork and was hooked from the first minute. Look now for hours at your great quilts and will sure bug you with lots of questions. greetings from switzerland Granny_59 |

Hi There from Portland, Oregon USA:
My name is Becky and I am a self taught Quilter. I enjoy it alot, though I must admit lately I have not been at my sewing machine. I have started an applique quilt. It has cats on it so have been carefully working on the cats, but I am at a tough spot. When I get to those places I put it down to think about it for awhile. I am a sewer and have been for years. I actually started as a tailor for mens wear. When I found quilting I was hooked. I love pieceing the best, but have ventured into other parts of quilting. I also enjoy foundation pieceing. I am not real new to this site, but I don't get here real often. I like to talk with people about quilting. Would like to converse if you want to? You can talk to me here or at my e-mail address. [email protected]. Talk to you later. :-D |
thanks again for all the warm welcome.
And Erika: wie wärs im live chat mit schwiitzerdütsch!? |

Maksi, hi...........so where do you order your fabric :-D |
I go to the LQS or for the cheaper fabrics to the market. Also I order a lot in the UK. I order almost never in the US because then I have to pay a lot of shippingfees and here a big amount on taxes! Because UK is also Europe I don't have to bother about taxes at all.
Switzerland lies in Europe but doesn't belong to the European Union, so I think you have to pay tax too even if your fabric is from UK? |
