Hello, my name is Melozi.

My boyfriend just recently got me interested in quilting - he's from a very long line of quilters, crafters, and wonderful cooks.
I'm finding I'm having the hardest time figuring out my sewing machine but it's a wonderful new challenge. I figure I have the rest of my life to figure it out as I'm only 20 and still in college.

If you have any ideas or tips for beginners let me know. Until then I'll just keep trying! :)

Welcome! well you can certainly pick up all sorts of great ideas and tips here! But I'd recommend taking a class in your locality, usually there's a beginner class at some fabric store or quilt shop or sewing machine store. Alex Andersen has several great beginner's books- they're not very lengthy and you'll learn several new blocks and make something as you learn.
Kind Regards,
MaryAnna

welcome from Montana!! I would suggest taking a class at your LQS. They are usually very informative and teach wonderfully. Other than that search youtube for tutorials on quilting. have a blast and just start sewing squares together!!
