Am new to this chitchat board but old to quilting. Made my first quilt 35yrs ago, and got immediately HOOKED. Since then I've made around 25 quilts for friends and family. LOVE sitting and hand sewing a quilt, its 'peace' for the brain. Of course I'm self taught from BEFORE it was the "in thing" to do, so like many of us, I learned it all the hard way. No classes, no masters other than the women at church who had been making quilts for most of THEIR lives.
My Mom, (rest in peace) was a FABULOUS seamstress, but never made 'decor' type stuff. I of course am the complete opposite, however she taught me everything she new about sewing and they were all valuable lessons, I just don't sew much clothing.

Thank you all so much for a warm welcome. I'm so looking forward to having other quilt lovers to learn from and all of your brains I will have the pleasure of 'picking' from time to time. I'm ALWAYS ready to talk quilting. Its been the only constant love for most of my adult life.

Welcome from Glenwood, Il (30 miles S. of Chicgo). You will love this board but get ready for an "addiction". Love your dog (cocker party-colored?). I have two blond cockers--Mother and son--in full coat. H. likes them long but I do all the work.
