I have been sewing for years and have just finished hand quilting 2 large quilts. I also pieced together several wall hangings. Now, I've got to make my sandwich and quilt them. I am so spooked, I've almost talked myself into hand quilting at least one of them. Help!

Oh don't be scared! I'm sure you will do absolutely fine.
Welcome to the board from NE Ohio!

Practice on something first, that's all. Just practice for awhile until you get the "feel" of it on a "practice sandwich". What kind of machine are you using?

Hello and Welcome from New York. I was the same way before i "took the plunge" After the intitial start, it will become FUN. The key is PRACTICE so you feel comfortable doing it.

I feel your pain, as I am in the exact same boat. I don't have a machine that is specifically made for quilting, so that makes it scary for me. I am about ready to piece some placemats, just for DH and myself to use, so that I can practice on them. I'll see how they turn out, and who knows ... it may turn out alright, or I may stick with hand quilting! I just don't know if my Viking 940 can handle a bed quilt of any size. Time will tell. However, I can tell you this, there is a lot of knowledge on this board and graciously shared! Welcome, and enjoy!

start with practicing on some practice pieces- once you have the hang of it then do your actual projects...it takes practice.

welcome from GA! I do recommend quilting on a sample or several samples, and there are lots of videos on youtube that can help... have fun!

Funny you should ask. I went to buy a new sewing machine and decided to get an Husqvarna. DH and I will be moving to Jerusalem full time in a few years so I wanted a dual voltage machine. The only dual voltage machine was the sapphire 875 - one of their quilting machine. So, one thing led to another and here I am with 5 quilt tops already pieced but no courage to start!!!

Which machine are you using?
