I need to know how many 12" squares it takes to make a King size quilt? If anyone can help me, I sure would appreciate it!! :)

There is no absolute answer to this question. Someone will be along and offer some guidelines. I just wanted to say welcome to the Quilting Board.:)

Mattresses are so different now. I would measure the bed, decide how wide & long you want the quilt & then how much drop on the sides. Divided the measurement by 12 for 12" blocks, but cut your blocks 12 1/2" to allow for seams.

Hello, and welcome from Idaho!
Are you going to add borders? Is it just fabric squares you want to sew together for the whole top--no sashing? |

If only 12" finished blocks(no sashing, no borders) and the final quilt is 120 X 120 which is a generous king then you need 100 blocks--10 across each row and a total of 10 rows. Gives you an idea anyway of where to start thinking.
