Hilary from Maryland.
Hi there!
I've been lurking on this board, several times a day, for the last three weeks. I have finally decided to introduce myself! I'm Hilary, in Maryland. I live about 10 minutes from the PA border with my husband, two cats, two guinea pigs, and dog. My aunt taught me to quilt on my very first quilt... a bargello! She had never done one but I fell in love with it. I'll post pics later once I figure out how to do it. I'm a very new quilter, I currently have several projects in several stages of progress but have only ever finished two quilts.
I'm currently working on a sewing machine cover from latest McCall's magazine. Fun little project! They advertise it as a "Start today, Finish tomorrow" LIES! I've been working on it for a week now and it's still not completed. But it sure has been a fun project.
Since quilting isn't my full time job, I make my living as a first grade teacher. We're out for the summer so I've been spending a LOT of time at the sewing machine. You'll hear much less of me when the school year starts. On top of quilting and teaching I also love cuddling up with a great book with my Great Dane, Bentley.
I still have so many quilting techniques to learn and I so look forward to learning from the distinguished quilters on this board. I've been oogling your quilts and they are simply gorgeous.
Now I'm off to sew until my eyelids get too heavy!
