Hi my name is Linda and I just turned the big 60. I retired from the workforce and now have time to quilt. I have sewed since I was a kid, but just got into quilting in the last year. I love it, and have learned so much about quilting from sites like this that have helped me tremendously, which I Thank you all. I just started to do free motion quilting and am really enjoying it. I have been stitching on my Viking #1+ since I purchased it in 1997. I love the machine and also love doing embroidery. I hope to learn even more from you all.

Welcome to the board. I bought a Viking #1 last year because I wanted to get into embroidery as well. I haven't been able to yet because it had issues. The machine is at the repair shop and was lucky enough to have them find a used part that it needed; used one is 30 new one was 147; big difference. I've been downloading all of the free designs from embroidery lib. This site is a wealth of information, lessons and inspirations
