I am Julie Silber ~ and I have been crazy about OLD QUILTS since I first saw them ~ in 1966.

Since then I have been collecting (buying), selling, and studying them...

I have written some books, curated some museum shows, done a lot of lecturing, and met some of the most wonderful people in the world.

Will look forward to connecting and sharing with yet more people who LOVE Antique Quilts!

Here are a few pictures of one of a pair of twin quilts handquilted by my Great Grandmother. She even finished these quilts with prairie points! She sewed for her family of 11 children, all their clothes, etc. It's in wonderful shape, hardly a stain or any discoloration in the fabric.

Hi! Welcome from Oklahoma!!!!!
I belong to the MOKA quilt study group. (Missouri, Oklahoma, Kansas, Arkansas) I am fairly new member. We only meet about every 4 months or so) The last meeting I went to was in Kansas City. It was on 30's era Kit quilts and Crib quilts. Merikay Waldvogel was one of the speakers. She is absolutely awesome. She sat next to me at the second day breakfast and we got to talking and ended up mentioning me and this quilt board in her lecture!! Very cool!!!

What are sime of your book titles? Would be very interested in checking them out!!! My main passion is the 1800's quilts.

Fantastic quilts, and a big welcome from Ireland. We love all quilts here, antique and modern, but I envy you having such lovely quilts made by your Great Grandmother.

Hi,
Thanks very much for the very nice note.

Merikay IS absolutely wonderful -- we have been friends and colleagues for over 20 years! We served together on the Board of American Quitl Study Group.

You can see all my books at my website: www.thequiltcomplex.com. Click BOOKS and MERCHANDISE. My topic is always older quilts.

Two titles: "Hearts and Hands" and "AMISH: The Art of the Quilt."

All best,
Julie
