Hi my name is Angela and Im new to quilting board and quilting itself, so far Im loving this craft, I want to make a tumbling block quilt any beginner suggestions

Welcome to the board! Those "y" seams can be tricky for a new (and experienced quilters as well!) so I suggest using a pattern for no "y" seams. Here is a link to a pdf pattern on how to do it or you can just google no y seam tumbling blocks. http://www.myquiltfabric.com/pdf/Tumbling_Blocks.pdf

Welcome from NJ! I was relatively new to quilting when I did a tumbling block quilt as well. I used the english paper piecing method. Found it quite easy and was nice and portable as well!
