New from Iowa/Minnesota/Texas
Hi everyone, my name is Sandi and I am new to this board, but not so new to quilting. I live in Iowa, summer in Minnesota and travel to Texas for a month in the winter.
I do have a question. Has anyone ever used fleece on the back of a quilt, and if so, did you also use batting? I'm making a t-shirt quilt for my grandson and thought about putting fleece on the back. Any suggestions? Thanks, Sandi |
Welcome from Ontario, Canada. There have been threads on QB discussing fleece. Some use fleece and batt, some use just fleece. Try the search bar to see earlier discussions.

Welcome from Louisiana:) If you use batting it will be quite heavy and warm. It all boils down to personal preference. Keep us posted on your progress.

Hi and welcome to the board. I live in Nebraska, near Omaha, and spend about 3 months near Corpus Christi in the winter. I recently made a t-shirt quilt for my 17 y-o grandson. I used flannel around the t-shirt blocks and ended up using the same flannel for the backing with Quilter's Dream cotton batting. I asked my grandson if he would like a fleece backing but he thought it might be too warm. I would have used the cotton batting even if I would have done the fleece, just for stabilizing, I guess. Good luck with your quilt.
