Newbie in Illinois (near Chicago)
 

Hello all,

Thank you so much for allowing me to join the group. I am very new to quilting . . . I have been learning as much as I can on the internet but I must say, I am already addicted! I have been sewing for a while and am not quite sure why I never gave quilting a try. But I am definitely hooked. I look forward to learning more from all of the members here.

Other hobbies of mine include refinishing furniture and working on vintage sewing machines! I have 2 treadle machines (one fully up and running, one still in the restoration process) and another frozen machine (a japanese clone) that I am hoping to fix up and convert to hand crank. I also have a featherweight which I cherish and baby! :) She is my favorite one to quilt with!

Yes I do go to Peddlers Way
. Have occassionally taken a class there. It is a good store and close to home, especially since Cozy closed. Although my favorite store is Piece and Applique in Rochester near Springfield. I am in love with Batiks and they have a great selection. Wide backs go to Ma's Got a Notion in Havanna. They have a great selection. Also had Sue (Ma's) quilt a wall hanging for me....won a "honorable mention in local quilt show. (still my favorite quilt.) I'd post a picture if I knew how but have never learned much about the computer. Even with two quilt stores (Cozy Corner and Cotton Stitches) closing we still have a great choice of quilt stores to go to in our area.
