Not really new, just been gone a long time.

I haven't been on here in quite a long time because of time restraints. I love up in the Ozarks where my DH and I have 13 acres and nobody around! We are out in the sticks (so far out there that last night we noticed our burn barrel had been knocked over and clawed by what appears to be a bear). I am the primary care giver of my mom who is 90 will be 91 in June and my step-dad who is 89 and will be 90 in June. They have been together for 16 years and really are in love with each other.

I'm hunting for a quilt pattern that I saw the past week or two - just can't find it now online or in my magazines. It's a log cabin quilt done in blue and whites and it has interspersed blocks of another type - I just don't remember what! I thought it might be cool with a bear claw or maple leaf, or maybe an ohio star or something like a churn dash? Does anybody recall seeing one of these in their exploits. I could really use some help as it is driving me crazy!

Will be checking back often.

Sorry I can't help with the name of the pattern, but I'm sure someone will on this board! :)
Watch out for those bears!!
It's so nice to hear people SO in love at that age! Enjoy!! :)

Hello, welcome from Oklahoma!!! We live in the country on 13 acres too. Very nice and quiet, love the wildlife, but can't seem to get our huge tree piles burned.

Dear Lakeview,

I totally understand the tree piles needing to be burned. I finally got a lot of the trees hauled out from the major ice storm a few years back. I believe I'm going to have my DH drag a few of them to a spot I'm thinking of putting a raised bed garden. Why pay for railroad ties when I have whole trees available for nothing!

Although no one seems to know what what I speak as far as the quilting pattern I'm looking for I have decided to do a garden patch (Quilter's World April 2012) along with the log cabin, or a nine patch star - should be interesting to see what I come up with - instead of using a design from somebody else, I'll just come up with my own.

My DH just wants me to be happy.
