Hi, my name is Maria Stephenson and I am venturing onto the path of making my own quilts. I happened upon this site simply because I was looking for certain patterns that I am having a rough time trying to find. One is of a southern belle. I am talking with hoop skirt, bonnet and parasol. The other is of the quilt I saw on the front page I believe that has three purple flowers in each square. I may have to clarify that one since it sort of disappeared on me as I was jumping through the hoops to register here! ;)

Here is a picture of the quilt of flowers I saw. Would love the pattern to it. I don't have many patterns to share myself. But once I do, and someone asks for something I have, I will be more than happy to share.

Welcome from Michigan.: Sorry not sure where to get the patterns but somebody will probably be able to help you with that.

Thanks, I look forward to it. :)

Hi and welcome to the board from Southern California! Sorry, I don't have the pattern for the purple applique flowers, but it is beautiful. I know I have seen the southern bell girls-similar to a Sunbonnet Sue-I will look thru my magazines and books to find it. Just found it-is it called "Umbrella Girl"-I found the pattern in Leisure Art's "Encyclopedia of Classic Quilt Patterns".

they have a pattern called "umbrella girl" in the book... Encyclopedia of classic quilt patterns. (101all time favorites) it looks like the southern belle you described. it's a leisure arts publication. isbn #9780848724740. you might be able to borrow this book from your library or try to check it out in a local bookstore or online at amazon. hope this helps.

Hi Maria. I can't help you with the pattern but wanted to welcome you anyway! From New York!
