I am returning to quilting after six years. I did not start making quilts until I was 59 years of age. At 62, I decided to pursue a doctorate degree and went back to school (school came first). As retirement got closer, I realized that I would be crazy to spend my retirement funds paying back student loans so, I took leave from my program. I am retired now (after 35 years of teaching) and trying to adjust to not doing something I really love (teaching). To get back into quilting, I took a course for beginners recently and had to learn to use my Bernina again.
