Hi Everyone! I'm new to this so please forgive if I am going over old material. I am looking to make a T-Shirt Quilt, but I am going blank as to how to stabilize the material so that it won't ravel. I was thinking about some kind of iron-on stabilizer. Any suggestions? Thanks.

Welcome! There are some here who will be able to help you. I don't know myself.

I have never made one, but a lot of the posts have said to use a fusible tricot stabalizer.

Hello and welcome from SW Iowa. Glad to have you here.

Welcome from Arkansas! T-shirt quilts are easy. Iron on a light weight stablizier before cutting, that way you won't have a problem with stretching. Happy to have you join us.

Hello!! My mom actually helped me make a tshirt quilt out of most of my college shirts .... I did it a little un traditionally than most done and it actually turned into one HUGE applique thing that got put on hold when I found out I was expecting LOL
If you iron fusible interfacing to the back of your cotton shirts it makes them a little stiffer and they are 100 times easier to sew :-) If you need any more help, just PM me :-) GOOD LUCK!!! |
