Default RE-Introduction lol

Hi my name is Michelle I haven't posted in quite a while. Life got pretty hectic around here and will continue to be for the next couple of months. Hopefully after that I can get back into doing some proper sewing.

Here is the link to the last thing I was working on. It's still that far in the progress.

What has kept me away from sewing? Well my husband came back from deployment and then the holidays. After all that we found out we were going to be moving but as all things military and being complicated, we were going to go to S Carolina where we had decided to have a house built. I was going to have my much desired own crafting room. Was so excited to finally have a space for myself instead of sharing the laundry room area. Well the power to be decided once my husband gained another rank that we could no longer go to that base and had to wait to see where we would go instead. I was SO mad for about a week. So wait wait wait we did (all while stringing along the real estate agent hoping they still decided we would go to SC hoping to keep my beautiful house) They finally informed us we would definitely NOT be going to SC and would instead be going to Louisiana. So I made that dreaded notification to the agent that we would no longer be going there. Thankfully on that part they had not even began work on the ground or the house to go on it and they could definitely sell the spot to another person and we weren't out any money or stuck in a contract. *SIGH* On top of that my oldest graduated from High school and also earned his Eagle rank in scouts.

So as for Louisiana, we already have a house waiting for us to move into and hooray I will still get a crafting room, even though it wont be as cool as the one would have been in the other house. The military provides packing and moving service for us and they will be here on the 23rd of July to pack up all my worldly possessions. I have already packed as much extra stuff into my assorted fabric totes and my sewing machine hasn't seen the light of day in several weeks.

So hopefully sometime in August I will have unpacked enough stuff in the rest of the house to allow me the time to sit down and finish the borders on the quilt top I posted and hopefully send it off to a long arm quilter. (Still haven't tried that step in quilting :P don't want to jack up my hard work lol)

Sorry for the long post, I'm still enjoying looking through everyone's beautiful work so keep posting your pictures for inspiration.

Michelle

Welcome back, Michelle! My hubby was in the Navy for thirty years and we were married for twenty eight of them, so I can definitely relate to your moving escapades. I could tell you some nightmare stories of our own. I hope your move goes well and you can get back to your sewing before too long.

First, I want to thank your husband for his service and I'm sure I can state that from the whole board. You also I want to give gratitude and your family for the sacrifices you have made and aren't done making. That's tough and disheartening when planning on a new house. As a real estate agent, I've worked with military families and it's just something we know they can't help. I'm sure your agent totally understood.
