Thinking I need to sew a little more ...
Greetings, everyone!
I'm the "dh" who sews a little, which is the literal truth. In the past several years, I've made some simple toddler clothes, one baby quilt (whole cloth), a couple dozen napkins for Christmas gifts, and a set of pot holders for my sister. Oh, and a stack of blocks for a scrappy nine-patch bed quilt that's been a UFO for at least two years. *sigh* My immediate objective is to finish that darned thing, and then I'd like to make at least a few simple quilted items for Christmas gifts. (I do have a pretty good stash. That's what comes of shopping and not sewing.)
But I find quilts intellectually and artistically stimulating and have some big plans for a couple of wall/art quilts. Certainly, I don't have the chops to make them yet, but I can see them, as a friend says, "in my mind's eye." (Love that phrase.) And I believe that I will get there.
Anyway, I've been lurking here for years, and have found the forums a great source of knowledge and inspiration. Thank you all for the assistance you have given without always realizing it.

welcome to the board. Haven't done much sewing lately either and I really need to but littleee and I mean very little motivation. For starters try some foundation strip piecing. Bonnie Hunter has site with lots of tips. She does lots of scrappies, her niche.

I also lurked for several years before I joined. I have gradually acquired a substantial stash but have done nothing with it since having surgeries and getting out of the mood. My 17-year-old granddaughter, of whom we have had custody 12+ years, tells me I need to trash my stash! My goal is to slowly get back into sewing, along with doing a number of other things I have put aside. Welcome from the beautiful mountains of western NC.
