Threads cotton or polyester? gutherman buying in bulk

hi guys. very new to quilting. and have done lots of other sewing in the past.
wont to buy supplies of cotton in bulk.
any ideas on sites. i have been to jo-ann's?
so feel free to advise i live in australia but with the dollar being very good at the moment i can buy from anywhere.

Joann's has the highest prices for gutterman i've seen anywhere on the internet. they charge the full MSRP (Manufacturer's Suggested Retail Price).

Personally, I find Gutermann too linty. Just used an entire spool of poly to darn/mend the knees of pants. Was a nightmare, thread nests, breakage, and gobs of lint when I changed the bobbin. I used it because I have a set of spools that came in a kit. When I ran out, I finished the same task with Coats and Clark and no more problems. I gave the other spools away. Candace from Elk Grove, CA of this board, put me on to Aurifil and tipped us off to the Aurifil clearance at Tristan Threads in BC Canada. Still not cheap, but an amazing price for Aurifil. I bought a LOT! I'm loving it, minimal lint, no breakage, the 50 wt is just right for piecing. I put In the comments box that Candace had referred me, they have a rewards program. I would never have tried it without the sale, but it really is great.

If you want cotton, and in larger quantities so that you will be able to quilt with it, I buy mine from Empress Mills in the UK.
They do 100% cotton (50s), 1000 m bobbin for £3.00 and 4000m cone for £9.50 in about 90 shades. Quote from their catalogue " This fine strong, soft finish natural thread has proved itself as a winner, particularly with machine quilters - super sewability- a sell out at the Shows!"
They are a family owned company, and I've found them very helpful.
