tried this method this a.m. and it is fun and so easy...I had 4 1/2" sqs all cut so I used them and only basted to try the method and not waste my fabric...well it is sooooooo easy and took less than 5 minutes for the block..will be little more if i press of course

It said to call your local quilt shop but I do not know other than that...think someone said connecting threads..

thanks for that. i also looked at fun and done and found that is evidently how I did my Hawaaian squares quilt. I just thought i figured it out myself. well, i did.hadn't seen fun and done before. quilt as you go actually but i like the backing being the seam covering on the front.

Am I the only one this seems a little wasteful of fabric to? I guess the time saved makes up for that... somehow tho, it twinges my thrift sense. LOL

Connecting Threads has the book on sale. I've only done practice blocks, and you lose a little of the center block, but all of the four background blocks are shown.
