Default Awesome inspiration for quilt colours!

I LOVE admiring the colour combinations other people have used in quilts but unfortunately, I often struggle to put together colour schemes myself. But, help is at hand for people like me. I found some awesome websites that make life so easy:

http://labs.tineye.com/color/
http://www.coolphptools.com/color_extract

These allow you to upload a photo of your own or from the internet with colours that you love. You can then generate a list of every colour that appears in your photo and see how they work together. Landscapes and seascapes have amazing results!

http://www.colorhexa.com/color-names

And this one has a list of every colour imaginable. Select a colour and scroll down to see complimentary, analogous, split complimentary, triadic schemes, etc.

http://www.0to255.com/

This site gives you every shade imaginable of a single colour

I'm often amazed by how colours that you would never think of putting together, actually look stunning! Now it's off to my LQS to find the fabrics!

This is awesome! I see myself taking a picture of something pretty on my iPad, do a color analysis, grab a pattern, and off I go to my LQS for fabric!!

Oh goodness! Thank you! My dd does most of my choosing, but alas she is getting older and will be leaving for college. Here I will be left adrift, still unable to combine colors and fabrics. This will save my sanity and save me days of indecision. Ha!
