Actually, it looks like the Janome Rolled Hem ("D") foot. I have an 8900 and looked at the feet that came with my machine. I am going to try it on a practice piece.

I am still going to buy the quilt binding set for charity quilts, but if this works, I may used this technique for personal family and gift quilts.

Actually, it looks as if this is not the correct foot. I have sent an email to Janome to find out.

You are my hero for sharing this! I really like the look of a hand-finished binding, mostly because I have yet to see one done on the machine that doesn't show every little waver, jig and jot of the sewing. I'm sure there are quilters out there who have this down to a science but I haven't and I don't know them. But I also like the look of a "well-turned" machine stitched quilt binding. This is the answer for me. I can't wait to get this foot. Bernina feet are very expensive and I've been tempted by specialty feet before but didn't pull the trigger because I wouldn't use them enough to justify the cost. This is the one I'm willing to invest it. Thanks again...so much.
