    Canberra Quilters Annual Show

I thought some of you might be interested in seeing some of the quilts entered in our annual show. They asked not to post pictures on the internet without the quilt makers ok, But since these photos are available on their web site I thought I would just give you the link so that you can have a look. Unfortunately this is not all the quilts, but it will give you some idea of what was there.

Check out 3rd place in Category 9 (challenge quilt open) See if you can guess what the round sparkly things are made of LOL (the actual circles, there are sequins sewn in the middle of the circles)

My mini got second place in the Tiny Treasures category which I was thrilled with. I really loved the first place quilt in that category.

These are some of the special category winners

Best in show was absolutely AMAZING, and by one of my favourite quilters Jenny Bowker.

Snails in the storm is just a combination of the snail trail block http://theelvengarden.blogspot.com.a...-tutorial.html

and just the sashing blocks of the storm at sea http://quiltinspiration.blogspot.com...ree-block.html

I paper pieced them and did them on a really small scale, the quilt finished at 13 1/2" square and has 444 pieces (yes I'm crazy)

I love the combination and one day would love to make a full sized quilt with these to blocks

Thank you so much for sharing. Makes me miss Australia! Looks like it was a great show- would have loved to be there- nice to see some Centenary themes in there too. Congratulations on your award- it's a fabulous mini.

As for the fireworks, I zoomed in and I had a thought, but it COULDN'T be what I thought..... Could it?!!
