At least that's what I call it. As far as I know, it is an original pattern, as it is a modification of another pattern. Either way, it does make a beautiful quilt and very easy to make.

Thanks..I just love the way it goes together. It's the one I decided on for my first grand baby's quilt. I tested it out first and made a small 36"x36" version...That test has become my chihuahua's favorite blankie :)

LOL close, I am Scottish (well my heritage is Scottish). This one turns out really gorgeous when the fabrics are of high contrast. White and Green would be gorgeous, I should think.

It's my favorite pattern and I have made it in a lot of colors. White and purple is quite stunning.

I like that pattern and printed it off. What would you say the fabric requirements are for lets say a throw?

Hmmm really depends on the size you decide for the knot pattern. I have actually never taken the time to measure it out. I imagine a yard and a half of "knot" fabric and 2 yards of background would make a decent throw. But that is just a guess.
