So many patterns or blocks have been given different names over the decades of quilting. I wonder how many hours of sleep does Jenny get?? LOVE to know what she drinks to keep herself going in the fast lane !!

Yes, I also know that block as jack-in-the-box. Dutchman's puzzle is a whole different one to me, but whatever you call it, her quilt certainly is lovely, and the technique she used for creating the HSTs doesn't result in her usual bias edges!

I did this same block in paper piecing; it turned out great. It also was not called a Colorado block.

I usually make mine, but I have to admit when they are on good sale I do buy them. Just started doing that recently at MSQC of deal of the day, also on Fat Quarter Shop they have a daily deal called a Flash Sale. Yesterday I bought Breakers Bali Crackers
Hoffman Fabrics layer cake for $11.99 even with $5.00 shipping I still could not get it for that price. I have done this several times plus I will purchase clearance items. Jenny Doan does do some great tutorials.

Liz at Jelly Roll Fabrics used this as her 1st block in the HST Challenge & called it by both names.
Material Girls also has it labeled as the Colorado block. I also thought it was Jack in the Box.
