Connecting Threads is discontinuing Essential Pro polyester thread???
I know some longarmers like this thread. If you go to the website, you will see that all colors of this thread are now "last chance" purchases. I heard that silver has already sold out.
My midarm doesn't play well with this thread, so I will not be in competition with any of you........

I just purchased some of this thread a month or so ago but haven't used it yet. I thought this was a new thread and they're already discontinuing it? I love their threads but I find they change colors too often so when I find I need more for a project, its hit and miss whether I can get more from them. That's my only complaint for them. I was in search of a Plum color I needed for a large quilt. Had to go out to the digest asking if anyone had some they didn't need and wanted to sell me. Cost me twice as much this way but I got what I needed at the time.
Just my thought on the subject of CT.

I think they introduced this thread only a year or so ago. I'm really surprised that they are discontinuing it. Similar threads might be Omni from Superior and Glide. I use Glide almost exclusively, but it has a bit of shine to it and I think the CT thread was more matte. Also CT is 70wt and Glide is 60wt (and I think Omni is also 60wt).

I was on their website a few days ago and noticed this. I called to confirm that they were discontinuing it. I love this thread so I ordered as much as I could - I'm not going to be happy when I run out!!!

I was always told not to use polyester thread as it would tear the cotton material. Guess that isn't true according to this. Has anyone else been told this? I used cotton thread to piece.

Superior Threads has done a lot to show that polyester thread has similar strength to cotton thread. It may be that years ago poly was stronger (I don't know that to be true, but manufacturing processes change so much over the years I think it could be), but not anymore. The Superior Threads guy demonstrates this in a Youtube video:
