I found Kona solids for $3.00/yard at Bear Paw Quilting. I got lots of the slate blue to do my snowflake star quilt.

It was in Quiltmaker mag Jan/Feb 2007. I wasrereading the magazine and saw the quilt. Its a 6 pointed star combined with a nine patch turned on point. The website had a photo of it but no pattern so I am goig to make up something. The snowflake/star is white on slate blue background. I have not seen it anwhere util today so I ordered 6 yards to have some left over. It will probably be twin size and hubby can use it when he is watching his favorite shows on the History Channel. The nine patch is dark blue and a rose color with the border in dark blue also. I made a test block and turned it into a pillow. Iuse bleached muslin for the snowflake and fused it to a blue using wonder under and top stitched it after fusing. Basically a real easy block.

No. NO. NO!!! I will not order any more fabric nor start any more projects until I have space in my sewing room!!!!!!!!!!!!!

:D :D :D :D :D :D

Your snowflake quilt sounds pretty. My "big" X-mas tree is in silver and blue yearly. I don't know why, but I love blue at Christmas time.

Post a pix and maybe we can figure out the pattern.

You are very lucky Ruth. I have been in Raleigh 22 years and I think my Joannes still has some fabric from when I first got to town!
