my godmother use to make these quilts. I still have three left. They are tuff on the hands if you aren't a strong person......but so worth it. She sold them for $45.00 each.

A similar idea is to buy a 12" metal ring, and tie onto it strips of fabric that are maybe 1" x 6" wide. Any scraps will do, and if you sort them by color you can get nice holiday combinations. It's a great kid project.
