Default Farmers daughter

Has anyone here done that quilt? I have the book...on shelf...unopened! I was watching YouTube today and it has 3 episodes of quilt in a day- Sue- doing some of the blocks not with the templates from the book, but QIAD way...The tutes seem to be about a year or so old....and I think they were sort of sew ins......Sue had these new instructions given to the audience.....it looks like the blocks come together so much more precise that way.....any opinions? I have emailed QIAD and inquired about availability of those instructions...hope I get a positive response......just wondering..

Default Oops! I meant farmers wife!

You tube from QIAD doing blocks from book, but not using templates, rather redoing the QIAD way....strips, triangles, squares, trim down to size.....

Geri, we did a year-long Farmer's Wife quilt-along on the QB back in 2010. Check the archive (I think August) for the beginning of our adventure. Honchey did a fabulous job of posting rotary cutting instructions for each of the blocks.

Thanx for that info...will research....and yes, it should read farmers wife NOT daughter...I don't know what I was thinking when I posted original!

just go to YouTube, search quilt in a day...and there are many tutes to watch besides framers wife (my mistake posting 'daughter'). 'Searching' can be enlightening!

I have the same book...a gift. And just shudder to think of all the cutting and so on. I'll check out the Youtube and archives. Not really sure I actually want to do it. So many others look like more fun.

I was just 'cruising' YouTube when I came across the QIAD version, and thought at least that way seemed a bit more modern than making then cutting from templates all those little pieces.

Thank you, Evie, for the info on the quilt-a-long.
I would also love to make these blocks. I have the book sitting in my cart on Amazon.

Definitely a cute quilt but also shudder thinking of all the cutting, etc.
