Amazing Grace, how sweet the sound, that saved a wretch like me. I once was lost but now am found, was blind, but now I see.

I tried this but takes WAY TO LONG at the ironing board plus you have all the creases you ironed on the fabric. Not for me but was worth a shot . I can do it faster just cutting & sewing PLUS I don't have to worry about centering the block in the exact center on the first fold , if not centered the other strips ( top & bottom ) are off center

Thanks for the critiques. I can see how important the center is. You would need your iron right next to the sewing machine and no slipping on each fold and stitch. I would like to have seen her sewing as well.

That's pretty ingenious!! I think I would spend extra time cutting those extra layers away though, so I could use that unseen fabric. lol

I was thinking that the triangles could be stitched diagonally on the pressed line and then stitch again 1/2" +/- from the original stitch line. Once you cut between the rows of stitching the result is a pile of HST to use in another block.

This is a great way to diminish the scrap pile. And the triangles would not have to be the same size which might be an interesting result. Also using multiple sized triangles would be interesting to consider. The possibilities are endless. -- Thanks for sharing this site.
