I have read several posts about the high cost of quality fabric .. as well as posts about WalMart doing away with their fabric department.
I wanted to share a great resource..

Another great online site is fabricshack.com. I've ordered loads from there. Check out the sale-a-bration fabrics. For me it's the shipping costs that can add up and they'll fit 9 yards of fabric into the global priority envelopes. Other online companies will only fit 6 yards. I've also ordered from overrainbow.com and found them good too.

Hi...I am by no means an expert but I myself would never tear fabric...I have found the fastest, easiest and most accurate way to cut it is with a rotary cutter and mat. Just be real careful because it is basically an extremely sharp razor blade. I have used my finger as a stop guard and it hurts!!! Thankfully, I was going slow so no stitches but I have a few good scars. :-) I am sure other more experienced quilters will be giving their input soon.
Have a good night!
