Here are pictures of the 2 I made. The Christmas one has a cord for the handle & the pink one has one of left over binding. Next I'm going to try making one larger

Electrical tape works well, because there is more flexibility.

The only electrical tape I'm familiar with is the black flexible kind that you wrap around wires. What kind is this?

How would the flexible black electrial tape make the bag snap shut? That's what the tape measure does (you use the metal, retractable kind)

the electrial tape is used to cover the measuring tape. to keep it from cutting into the fabric, and i think to make it stronger too, but i use the clear duct tape , to me its less sticky to use.

I only cover the ends of the tape measure where it was cut.

I've never heard of cleaar duct tape, where do you find it?

Yes, I actually purchased the pattern earlier (drats!) it says that the numbers face the inside of the bag...the hollow side. So I think that would be the way PghPat said. But that doesn't make sense to me, the tute looks like the hollow part faces out....haven't made one yet, guess I need to so I can figure this out. :|
