On Wednesday's posting someone listed freecycle.com as a source for obtaining quilting supplies.

I'm horrible with names I can't remember who you were however, I can't thank you enough. Last night I posted a request for quilting material or batting. In return I post two trash bags of yarn, since I can no longer knit. The yarn found a new home and so far I've received a batch of batting and a former quilters stash is on it's way.

Thank you so much for sharing this site with us. If you missed the original posting I hope you read mine because this site is amazing!!!!

I hope the original lady who posted freecycle.com reads this and PM's me so I can thank you personally.

See, it was a great source for me, too and I always pass along the stuff that I know will help folks. Glad you got great results. Those results don't happen very often but if it catches on they will post a piece or two or a ton. Peace and love

Blessings,
Ruth

Congratulations, I have yet to have found any quilting supplies on Freecycle, but I did score a chandelier today from it.
A great site, it helps you clear out things you know longer have a need for and fines a home with someone else. But most important it keeps things out of the landfill, it's a win - win.

That's how I got started with my material. Someone posted on our local Freecycle that they have a large trash bag full of material left-overs. We met, I took the bag and have received several more from her as well. She's also now a friend so it was a lovely "deal" for me. I shared lots with my DIL who was just beginning to quilt.
