I then put the fabric back in the fridge, and the markings did NOT return. I am very satisfied with the pens, and I feel confident to use them to do SOME marking for quilting and for my machine embroidery. I say "some", since I only tried it on cotton and poly/cotton blend. I would test on whatever fabrics i use in the future, since I sew with all types of fabrics.
As for marking a quilt, I would always test. The marks would be erased by the heat of an iron, but then you must wash the quilt to finish removing the "magic ink" markings. Funny story from one of our quilting friends who said she did not wash the quilt, but sent it to her friend. The quilt was sent by UPS and the truck was very cold. When her friend opened the box, the markings had reappeared! Sitting in the cold truck was enough to trigger the ink!
Thanks for the tip about washing the quilt after heat removal of the lines. I don't always wash a quilt before giving it, will do that now!!

At a Home Show, Staples was giving out the Frixon pens as a promotional item. It told the young man I used them in my quilting and he gave me an unopened case of the pen sets in all colors! He said the faster he ran out the faster he could leave. He wasn't very thrilled to be there but I was! LOL I shared them with my quilt buddies.

I love these pens and use them a lot. I have heard that if they are not washed out some people have had bleach like lines where the ink was left in over time. I have not had that but have also not left them in over a long period of time. To be safe I wash them out rather than erase them with heat. Back to school sales is a good time to stock up. They are always on my Christmas list as well. Quilt shops sell them and generally in more colors but they are more expensive there than at office supply stores where the color supply is limited.

I've bought the multi color pack Please Be Careful they really come back with heat!! So I would be very careful where I mark my quilts. I thought they were wonderful. I used them on project for gifts. The marks come back, I thought after I washed the item it would go away!! Not so.

My quilt shop carried them. I use then when I do back-basting applique. Work wonderfully.
