I'm in charge of the Christmas in July program for my guild and didn't know anything new and fun to do. We are having a Jelly Roll Race! This will be great for a group! A complete quilt top finished in 35 min  :-D  8-) This is going to be so much fun. I think some may call this pattern Lasagna Quilt. There is tutorial similar to this posted in the Tutorial section here on this board too.

Cute. Interesting they've biased the edges. I've not thought to do that.

Watched the video and looks like fun. However, I am a very slow/nervous stitcher so I would be a nervous wreck throughout the whole process knowing that I would come in last and everyone would be standing around waiting for me to finish. Good idea though, what will you do with all the quilt tops that are made?

Sounds like a fun meeting! Make sure everyone knows that 35 minutes was the fastest time, not the average!
And for those of us not willing to pay the premium price for a ready-to-go jelly roll, it will take that at least that long choosing which stash fabrics we want to use up!

Everyone will be asked to have the strips sewn together in one long strip for the race and can cut their strips up to 3" if cutting their own or come early to sew the strips together. Most members that come to our guild workshops will not care about buying a jelly roll and more then likely bring extra for those that need one. Our guild keeps a big bin full of extra fabric for anyone to use that needs fabric for the workshops or programs. Someone is always replenishing the bin. I love my guild members generosity. I don't think I'll time it, just say GO! The quilts will be for the sewers use.
