Have a friend who is going to be a grandmother in Oct. Hmm! Will keep this one in mind and maybe add some lace if it's a girl.

I have used it for a baby quilt and it turns out quite nice. The one thing I did extra was, I edge stitched the one scallop I left open(on both layers) for turning before matching the 2 pieces up again for edge stitching. I put the stay stitching just outside the final stitching line so the bias edges didn't stretch and to give myself a nice, easy stitching line to follow when ladder stitching the final scallop together. It also helps to keep the batt attached to the backing fabric and right out to the scallop edge. I then did a little quilting and decorative ties on the quilt.

Thanks for posting. I forwarded it to a friend who wants to get into sewing. I think she'll LOVE it!
