I'm so excited! The girls are finally getting equal time! Robert Kaufman came out with a line of Boy Scout fabrics a year ago, but nothing for the girls until now.

I think these look great... but once again I cannot figure out which ones to carry in my shop. Quilters, can you help me make up my mind?

Here's a link to the whole collection as pictured on Kaufman's website: http://www.robertkaufman.com/fabrics/girl_scouts/

Many thanks, in advance, for your advice!

Im sorry after being a GS leader for 6 years ...Girl Scouts is MORE than cookies...
My last year, my girls had the fastest time in getting out of the Maize Maze out of All scout groups. They could only use a compass. They had most of the outdoor and tech badges. Those girls rocked.
Most of the fabric is cute for the brownies and maybe the first couple years but the older ones the fabric is too little girly :?
Sorry that is just My Opionion
Look at the Boy Scout and it more toward the older Scouts. They have added the cubs in the new line.

    I can't decide - they're all cute.

BTW, I think you are not going to get the coverage you want in this section. You should shoot for the pictures section. You can PM patrice to see what she thinks...

Girl Scouts is definitely more than just cookies and badges, but it is a great place to start. Being a lifetime Girl Scout, I am glad to see that this great organization is being recognized. Personally, I would love one of the green with thin mints to make a pair of pj's out of or even a pillowcase. They do need to come up with designs for the older branches of Girl Scouts.

Do you have any idea who might be selling the fabrics? I think this is great. I have written to GS National for several years complaining about the lack of availability for the fabric.

We will be carrying some but not all of the line. If you send me a private e-mail I'll send you my website address. (I think it would be inappropriate to post it here.)

And I would guess that, since the fabrics are supposed to be available next month, if you search on "girl scout fabrics" in late September you will find a lot of sources.

I am not a Girl Scout but just want to say "hi" to a neighbor. I noticed your address. I live near Niagara Falls which is near Buffalo which is near Orchard Park.
Where is your quilt shop? The only one in that are that I have been to is Quilt Barn in Boston/Hamburg area. Love finding new ones.

I am leaning towards the first 4 with coordinating fabrics, the rest is just to unscouty for me. ( I never liked selling cookies)

I'm not sure how much you know about Girl Scouts. The fabric with the round badges is for older girls. The triangle badges are the littler girls. If you decide to have the badge fabric you might want to consider both badge styles.

The younger girls almost always make a "sit-upon" at some point. Since the "sit-upons" are tossed on the ground all the time maybe you could display the cute Girl Scout fabric along with some tougher backing fabric that won't show the dirt so much. :)
