Great idea. I would finish the edges a bit differently, as I tend to be a perfectionist.

Saw your post, and had to say I love that Princeton, IL shop. I moved from Shannon, Il to SC in 2000, so haven't been there since, and have been wondering if it is still in business. Are they still as big as they were with all 3 rooms of fabric? I loved it. Thanks for the memories.

I saw the tutuorial this morning and made one tonight. I'm slow at everything, but this did go together really fast. I had some material called "Poodle cloth" that I had bought years ago on sale thinking it would make a good backing for a baby quilt and never used it. It's kind of curly and so soft. It worked perfectly and you can't see the stitches for all the curly stuff. But what a mess when you cut it! These will make really nice gifts.
