Thanks! That's a GREAT price, too! Did ya see her new LOWER shipping rates on Aurifil thread? WOW!

Order up to 24 spools for a shipping fee of $5.00.
The Shopping Cart will show a higher charge so
I will refund the difference after your order is complete.

That's really awesome!!

I found this site to have the best prices on Aurifil thread sets. http://www.tristan.bc.ca/cart/home.php?cat=27 The site is dropping Aurifil and going to another Italian produced thread which is excellent.

Looks like the prices are the same for individual 50 wt threads, although they do have some great package deals. It doesn't look like they can beat the terrific shipping price of the other shop, especially since they ship from B.C. Still, a great deal for their group sets and other weight threads.

Thanks so much for this great resource, too.

So far, my only experience with using Aurifil threads is with piecing. For that, I'm using the 50/2 weight as it is a thinner, yet just as strong thread as most 50/3's but doesn't take up as much room in the seam as the 50/3 thread. I find now that I rarely have to sew with a scant 1/4" since this weight works so well for me.

Hoping someone else will chime in for you on which thread they prefer for machine quilting. I'm guessing it's going to be a thicker thread, maybe 40 or even a 30 weight.
