I've been using pipe cleaners for a few years now. I just take a long pipe cleaner and fold it in half and use it that way. When that area gets dirty, I just refold in another section. I'd be afraid that the pipe cleaner might get dis-lodged from the straw if it got caught on something inside the machine. I can get way inside but I also use the small vacuum attachment at least once a month or more often, depending on how much sewing I do.

When my mascara runs out, I clean that brush thoroughly, and I use it instead of a pipe cleaner. I used to use pipe cleaners, but the mascara brush is better.

I've used pipe cleaners for several years but thanks, Joanne, I give the recycled mascara brush a try.

Thanks BellaBoo, I'm gonna make myself one. That looks really neat. Every tip helps save our old machines and our new ones.

Cleaned both of mine the other day. It is amazing how much fuss builds up. Always clean after every sewing project. I like the ideal of after every bobbin. This is why your bobbin empty alert doesn't alway work.
Live everyday so that when your feet hit the floor in the morning the devil says oh crap she's up.
