Kate's BIG Binding Quilt-video tutorial
"
This quilt is super fast to finish completely on the machine, has a wonderful weighted binding around the edge and can be made into any desired size.
The pattern requires 1 yard of fabric for the front, 1 yard of fabric for the back, 2 yards of fabric for the binding and a piece of cotton batting.
The pattern includes a formula to plug in your own quilt size to figure out the proper front, back and binding strips needed to go around the quilt.
Select one of those great decorative stitches you never use to complete the final stitching around the entire quilt! You will feel great using a new stitch from your sewing machine"

I bought the instructions from the designer. If you decide to do this method, I am telling you that you dont need 5 strips for binding. 4 @13.5 is enough. I think when they calculated the yardage they did so thinking that the strips were connected in the traditional diagonal style, however in the instructions they have you connect them end to end, therefore you dont need as much. I made a ton of these baby quilts. Also, if you get creative you can figure out how to make the cut of the bindings narrower by not having them double. I would encourage the purchase of the instructions.
