I have heard alot on this board about Hancocks. I never heard of them before seeing all the posts here. I found this link...quilting fabric on sale under 5.00. I may have to place an order.

I went on that Hancocks website. That fabric for $5 doesn't state who the manufacturer is. I used to shop at a Hancocks way back when I lived in Michigan. I would say the fabric was comparable to Joann's. If it doesn't have a manufacturers name on it I like to feel of it. If it is Kaufman or Moda, or one of the others I know it will have a good hand. But if I don't know who the manufacturer is I don't know if it is stiff, flimsy, etc. Makes me hesitate to spend on it.

The Hancock Fabric chain stores are not related in any way to the Hancock's of Paducah, Kentucky.
A lot of quilters (incl. myself) order from Hancock's of Paducah. They have TONS of major fabric lines, great discounts and sales, books, patterns, batting and notions etc. They have a great catalog you can request and now they have a digital version as well. I've always had great service from H-Paducah. :)

Ditto! Better site there.
I just ordered over $60 worth from Hancocks of Paducah, no discounts were added. And no free shipping.
