I just went to the link. Is this the same as Hancock's of Padučah? That is one of my favorite online stores. We don't have Hancock's around here. Only Michaels and Hobby Lobby. Yes, I feel badly, too, for the people losing their jobs.

No, Hancock Fabric and Hancock's of Paducah are very different. Hancock Fabrics is pretty much the same as Joanns.

Hancocks of Paducah is privately owned and not a chain.

I would really miss Hancock Fabrics. From what I read, it looks like the stores to be closed are in North Carolina. Hope they can restructure and reopen in that area..

Hancock Fabrics has some outstanding deals on their Spot the Bolt fabrics, including upholstery fabrics. I do wish they had a little more organization and convenience when it comes to their checkout process.

They closed a store in Ohio also, but I heard it was because of the difficulties with their space not being kept up by the owner. That was about two years ago.

It's a shame that chain did not become as popular as JAF and now hobby lobby......I wonder if eventually the company will go down. This article seems to be focusing on that state. The closest one to me is over an hours drive away, so I have not been a steady customer.
