I have seen this done in Bali what you don't get here is the smell of the chemicals , or how very hot and humid it is there . Cathy
Great video. I had no idea how many steps were involved in making batiks. Did you notice that gloves were not worn during any steps, including bleaching or dying.
I think I will be more understanding when I find wax on my batik fabric.

I have seen another video and it wasn't nearly so complicated - but was very crude. The workers were standing in vats of water in part of the process and were wearing shorts and the shorts were wet up to their crotches. That is why I wash every single piece of batik that I own. Need I say more????
